Import A Moulding Price List

It is not necessary to enter each moulding into the moulding table individually within EstLite, it is sometimes easier to prepare the list externally, say in a spreadsheet, or use a pre-prepared list from an external source, such as a moulding manufacturer.

If Your moulding supplier maintains an on-line moulding table you can schedule BBEst to download his table from the Internet.

The list can be prepared using a text editor such as Notepad, or a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel.

Text Editor
Each moulding is given a new line and consists of the name followed by the price, separated by a comma. Eg: -
GS127,255
HRM12.10001,395
SSLIP,125

Spreadsheet
Use two or three columns, first for names, second for prices, and the third (optional) for quantity, without any headings.
(Save As - CSV file)

Save the file using the CSV extension using an abbreviated form of the supplier's name, for example - LJ.CSV. It is best to keep the name short, two or three characters, as this name is displayed in front of the moulding name each time it is displayed by EstLite. The exception to this is MY.CSV, in this case the name is displayed without the MY being added.

The list of prices may have either integer (247) or decimal (2.47) values, but must NOT have a currency (£) symbol. Note that the safest format for prices is integer. When entering decimal prices, remember to always use the decimal point eg 4.00 and NOT 4

The .CSV file can be dragged from Windows Explorer or the desktop, and dropped on to EstLite where it is automatically added to the Moulding Table. If the file has the same name as a previously installed list, you will have the option of replacing the old with the new, perfect for manufacturers' updates.
