Setting up EstLite

How To Configure Prices And Margins For Your Business

It is important that you configure your general options when you first start using EstLite.

1 Set your General Options
Click on Options in the main screen, then click the General Options tab in the Options screen.

Select your preferred unit of measurement.

Set your locale preference. If neither USA or UK is appropriate, then you can chose other settings from the International screen.

Enter the Waste Factor, this is the percentage of material which is wasted when making a frame.

Set the Vat/Tax rate.

Click on Save when you are satisfied with the changes you have made.

2 Moulding
Click on Options in the main screen, then click the mouldings tab in the Options screen. From here you can configure the prices charged for the frame rim.

The average price for 3in/7.5cms is the average price you would pay for this size of moulding. The figure entered here is the basis for the estimated widths of all the mouldings you use (only significant when no moulding width is available).

The maximum moulding width is the width of the widest moulding you are prepared to quote a price for (only significant when no moulding width is available).

The moulding markup is applied to the moulding cost price to calculate the charge for the frame rim.

The moulding sales markup is applied to the moulding cost price when you sell moulding to DIY framers.

Minimum stock is the shortest practical length for a moulding to be considered still in stock.

Click on Save when you are satisfied with the changes you have made.

3 Define And Price Individual Frame Elements
Glass, Fixing, Mount/Mat, Mount/Mat Decoration

Click on Options in the main screen, then click the prices tab in the Options screen. From here you can configure the prices charged for various frame elements.

You are free to add to, or alter, all the descriptions and prices on this screen. Remember that the prices here are the prices you want to charge your customer, not the material cost. The min price represents the fixed charges, or overheads, associated with each item.

Note:- You must include the price of the backing board with your glass price.

Click on Save when you are satisfied with the changes you have made.

Before using this basic configuration, you might like to mark the price code on each of your samples. This is the figure you place in the Moulding No. box in the main screen when you are pricing a job, and is simply the cost to you of each profile. Integer values only (no decimal point) - ie. 455, not 4.55
